Blessing Bags
Bags packed with the essentials — food, water, socks, and hygiene supplies — handed neighbor to neighbor, with dignity.
Carried out every weekBlessing bags, hot showers, and the love of Jesus — brought to our neighbors experiencing homelessness across Indianapolis, every week.
We meet real, physical needs first — and in doing so, build the relationships where hope can take root. Every week, we head out to serve our neighbors on the streets of Indianapolis.

Heart of the workFrom poor choices to a calling on the streets.
When Missy and I had been married for just a few years, she told me she believed I was called into ministry. I laughed. But after some very poor choices, I let God “wreck” me — and wreck me He did.
I started serving in street ministry around St. Louis — food pantries, the streets, the housing projects — and I became addicted to helping “the least of these.” Because at one point or another, every one of us has been the least of these.
Jay Covert spoke those words over me back in 2017. We said yes, moved to Indianapolis in April 2021, and it's been amazing to watch the doors God has opened ever since.

Our mission is to go to the most destitute parts of America's inner cities and bring the hope of Jesus. We believe that when we meet physical needs and build real relationships, hearts are made ready to receive the life-changing gospel — and that God is going to use U/O Indy to see the hurting, the lost, and the broken set free.
This is our shower trailer, where we're able to give many the first shower they've had in a very long time. A young boy at a church I was speaking to called it the “Bloodmobile” — and the name stuck.
It's fitting. It's red, and only the Blood of Jesus can wash us and make us white as snow.
Our monthly newsletter is the best way to follow what God is doing through Urban Outreach Indy — the people we're meeting, the prayers being answered, and the ways you can step in and help.
Catch the latest stories, photos, and needs straight from the field.
We can't do this alone. Your partnership — whether through giving or your time — puts blessing bags in hands, keeps the Bloodmobile rolling, and brings the love of Jesus to our neighbors who need it most.
